prof. Melissa Manwaring

Babson College

Melissa Manwaring is an award-winning professor at Babson College (a small, entrepreneurship-focused business school near Boston U.S.A.), where she teaches negotiation to undergraduates, MBA students, and executives. Her current research focuses on negotiation pedagogy and connections between negotiation and entrepreneurial processes. She is a longtime Associate Editor for Negotiation Journal and an independent negotiation trainer and consultant, having taught negotiation theory and skills to thousands of corporate, non-profit, and educational clients around the world. Professor Manwaring has also served as Director of Curriculum Development at Havard’s Program on Negotiation and practiced law at private firms in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, with a focus on commercial litigation, intellectual property transaction, and dispute resolution. She holds an M.Ed. from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she studied negotiation theory with Getting to YES co-authors Roger Fisher, William Ury, and Bruce Patton.
